University of Calgary Continuing Education – Conquering Your Fear of Public Speaking
BUS 265 – Conquering Your Fear of Public Speaking is a 14-hour non-credit seminar offered by the University of Calgary Continuing Education. It provides a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for participants to face and conquer their fear of public speaking, or to grow skills they already have. Participants learn the who, what, why, when, and how of public speaking, including language, delivery, and visual aids. The course includes two in-class presentations and mindfulness and awareness techniques. Some homework between classes is required. Classes are held at the UCalgary Downtown Campus (906 8th Avenue SW) or Main Campus, and may also be offered online synchronously or in a hybrid format. The course is part of the Effective Communication for Leaders certificate program.
