Munich Media Speakers

Munich Media Speakers (MMS) is a Toastmasters club founded in October 2009 — the first Toastmasters club at Munich universities. The club supports students, entrepreneurs, and business professionals in developing their public speaking and leadership skills. Meetings follow the structured Toastmasters format: prepared speeches, impromptu Table Topics, peer evaluations, and role-based participation (Toastmaster of the Evening, evaluators, timekeepers, etc.). The club uses the Toastmasters Pathways learning program with 11 specialized learning paths and over 300 unique competencies. Guests are always welcome to attend free of charge and without prior registration. The club is hosted at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) at Hochschule München.

Mitgliedschaft und Sessions

Open to all interested parties — no membership restrictions. Guests may attend any number of meetings free of charge and without prior registration. Guests may also participate in Table Topics (impromptu speeches). Membership fees follow the Toastmasters International structure (dues paid semi-annually); exact MMS-specific amounts are not publicly listed on the club website. Terminplan: Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, 19:00–21:00 (doors open 18:45). Meetings are held in person at the Creative Hall, SCE, Heßstraße 89, 80797 Munich. English is permitted at the first meeting of each quarter.

Founded on 19 October 2009, MMS is the first Toastmasters club established at Munich universities. Club member Andreas Beckenbach won the German Toastmasters Speech Championship in 2023. The club is affiliated with Toastmasters International (Club ID: 01383882) and is listed on the SCE (Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship) website as an official further-education program.
