CAL – Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras – Curso de Oratória
CAL – Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras is a renowned performing-arts school in Rio de Janeiro, founded in 1982. Its Oratory course (Curso de Oratória) is aimed at professionals and students who wish to expand their communication skills and use of voice as a tool of expression or work. The course develops verbal and non-verbal communication, unblocks speech difficulties, and teaches techniques used by professional actors to optimise corporate presentations and everyday communication. Classes are held on Saturdays in a semester format. Open to participants aged 16 and above. A certificate of attendance is issued to students who complete at least 75% of the course hours. The course is taught by Clair Guárdia, a speech-language pathologist (fonoaudióloga) with a postgraduate degree in Spoken Voice, former teacher at the Teatro Martins Pena school, and current instructor in CAL's Professional Actor Training programme.
