Toastmasters General (MGH)

Toastmasters General Club is based at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, MA, and is open to both MGH employees and the surrounding community. Established in 2014, the club helps members improve their communication and leadership skills in a supportive, friendly environment. Meetings are held virtually via Zoom on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:15 to 7:15 pm ET. Guests are always welcome and attendance is free.

Membership & sessions

Toastmasters International semiannual dues are $60 USD per 6-month period ($120/year). New members also pay a one-time $25 new member fee, which covers the first Pathways learning path and administrative processing. Individual club dues may apply in addition; contact the club for details. Attending as a guest is free.

Services: Prepared speeches (Pathways learning experience), Impromptu speaking practice (Table Topics), Peer speech evaluations and feedback, Leadership role practice (meeting roles), Mentoring program, Speech contests, Pathways Base Camp digital education platform, Communication and leadership skills development

Additional information

Club number: 4340726. The club met in person at MGH's main campus (Thier Conference Room, 1st Floor, Thier Research Building) until March 2020, when it transitioned to fully virtual meetings via Zoom. The MGH campus is accessible via the MBTA Red Line (Charles/MGH stop) and Orange/Green Lines (North Station stop).
