Pacific Beach Toastmasters (Club #54)

Pacific Beach Toastmasters (Club #54) is a friendly and supportive public speaking club that has been serving the Pacific Beach community of San Diego for over 75 years. Part of Toastmasters International, the club is open to all — executives, students, retirees, and everyone in between — and focuses on developing public speaking, communication, and leadership skills in a fun, inclusive environment. Members learn by doing through prepared speeches, impromptu speaking (Table Topics), and structured peer feedback. The club uses the Toastmasters Pathways online learning platform and welcomes guests at every meeting with no pressure to participate until ready.

Toastmasters International dues are $60 USD per 6-month period (paid twice yearly in April and October), totalling $120 USD per year. New members also pay a one-time new member fee of $25 USD, which covers administrative costs, Base Camp (Pathways) system access, and the first learning path. Dues are prorated at $10/month for members joining mid-period. Individual club dues may also apply — contact the club for details. Guests may attend meetings for free with no obligation.

Services: Pathways learning experience (online educational platform with 6 specialized learning paths and 300+, Prepared speech practice and delivery, Table Topics (impromptu speaking exercises), Peer speech evaluations and feedback, Meeting leadership roles (Toastmaster of the Day, Timer, Grammarian, etc.), Mentoring program, Leadership development training, Hybrid in-person and online (Zoom) meetings
