The Lir At Work – Public Speaking Training

The Lir at Work is a corporate communications training initiative by The Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art at Trinity College Dublin. Established in 2016 in partnership with RADA Business, it offers public speaking courses, presentation skills training, and personal impact communications workshops. Trainers are theatre professionals who use the same techniques employed to train professional actors, focusing on Body, Breath and Voice. Courses are available for individuals (open enrolment) and corporate groups, both in-person and online.

Membership & sessions

No traditional membership model. Courses are booked and paid per session/course on an individual or group basis. Individual open-enrolment courses start from approximately €450 per person (excl. VAT) for a full-day workshop (e.g., 'Public Speaking: Fighting the Fear' at €450; 'Storytelling for Business' at €485). Payment plans are available over 6 months via Humm Finance. Corporate/group training is available by enquiry. All prices are exclusive of VAT.

Meeting schedule: Regular workshops run throughout the year. In-person open courses for individuals are held at the Lir Academy campus (Pearse Street, Dublin 2). One-day courses typically run 10:00am–5:00pm. Evening courses (e.g., the 6-week 'Clear and Confident Voice' programme) run 7:00pm–8:30pm. The Lir Academy is a registered charity (RCN: 20076689). 100% of profits from The Lir at Work are reinvested into The Lir Academy to fund arts education in Ireland. The initiative was established in 2016 in partnership with RADA Business.
