Göteborgs Universitet – Retorik för yrkesverksamma

Retorik för yrkesverksamma (Rhetoric for Professionals) is a 7.5 ECTS undergraduate course offered by the Department of Swedish, Multilingualism and Language Technology at the University of Gothenburg (Faculty of Humanities). The course is designed for working professionals who rely on spoken communication as a key professional tool — such as teachers, lawyers, project managers, HR specialists, salespeople, and communicators. Sessions are scheduled in the afternoons to accommodate participants who are employed. The course provides substantial practical training in the art of persuasive speaking across a variety of situations, grounded in classical rhetorical theory applied to modern professional contexts. Topics include rhetorical analysis of speech and writing, voice training, managing speaking anxiety, and memory techniques.
