Central Ohio Advanced Toastmasters (COAT)

Central Ohio Advanced Toastmasters (COAT), Club #4915, is the oldest Advanced Toastmasters club in District 40, chartered May 1, 1997. It serves experienced Toastmasters who want rigorous, expert-level feedback and the time and space to deliver long-format advanced speeches (10–30 minutes). COAT members include Distinguished Toastmasters (DTMs) and former/current District leaders. Meetings are held in a hybrid format at International Friendships, Inc. (IFI) in Columbus, OH, with a Zoom link provided for virtual attendees.

Membership & sessions

Toastmasters International semiannual dues are $60 USD per 6-month period ($120/year). A one-time new member fee of $25 USD applies (effective October 1, 2025; previously $20 USD). Dues are prorated at $10/month for mid-period joiners. The club may also charge supplementary club dues — contact the club for details. Membership includes access to the Pathways learning experience and Base Camp.

Services: Advanced speech delivery (10–30 minute speeches), Expert speech evaluations by DTMs and District leaders, Toastmasters Pathways education program, DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster) mentoring and support, Table Topics (impromptu speaking practice), Leadership development, Advanced manual support (Professional Speaker, Public Relations, Speaking to Inform), Hybrid in-person and virtual (Zoom) meetings, Speech contest participation

Meeting schedule: 2nd and 5th Thursdays, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM (5th Thursday: 6:00 PM at MCL Cafeteria, 3154 Kingsdale Center, Columbus). Hybrid: in-person at IFI + Zoom virtual option.
