Transmasters Toastmasters

Transmasters is one of MTA NYC Transit's most established corporate Toastmasters clubs, chartered in May 1996. Located in the iconic NYC Transit Building in Downtown Brooklyn, the club is open to everyone under the MTA umbrella — including Bridges & Tunnels, LIRR, MNR, SIR, and other transit or transportation fields. As a hybrid club, meetings are held both in person and via Zoom on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. The club is part of Toastmasters International (Club #00007292, District 46, Area D42) and is dedicated to developing public speaking, communication, and leadership skills in a supportive, structured environment.

Membership & sessions

Membership requires Toastmasters International dues of $60 USD per 6-month period (prorated at $10/month for mid-period joiners), plus a one-time new member fee of $25 USD. This club may have professional and/or educational prerequisites for membership — contact the club for details. Guests may attend meetings for free before joining.

Services: Pathways Learning Experience (6 specialized learning paths, 300+ competencies), Prepared speeches and evaluations, Table Topics (impromptu speaking practice), Leadership role practice (Toastmaster of the Day, Timer, Grammarian, etc.), Peer feedback and mentoring, Speech contests, Hybrid meetings (in-person and Zoom)
