Cougar Rhetoric Toastmasters
Cougar Rhetoric is a Toastmasters club at the University of Houston, meeting every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Established in 2020, the club holds hybrid meetings on MS Teams and the UH campus.
In addition to offline public speaking classes, you can practice public speaking online from Houston
Live speaking sessions with real listeners are available on speaking-club.online, even if there are no local public speaking classes nearby.

Membership & sessions
Membership is restricted to UH staff and student employees (professional/educational prerequisites apply). Toastmasters International semiannual dues are $60 USD (renewable every 6 months in April and October). New members pay a one-time $25 USD new member fee in addition to prorated dues. Individual club dues may also apply — contact the club for specifics.
Services: Public speaking practice and skill development, Leadership development, Toastmasters Pathways educational program, Impromptu speaking (Table Topics), Prepared speech delivery and feedback, Peer evaluations and constructive feedback, Hybrid meetings (in-person and Microsoft Teams), Communication and confidence building

Additional information
Cougar Rhetoric follows the UH ALERT Emergency Notification System — meetings do not take place when UH announces an official closure. Guests are welcome to attend meetings before committing to membership. The club is supported by the UH Human Resources Talent Development department.
