Portland Toastmasters Club (Club #31)

Portland Toastmasters Club #31 is the oldest Toastmasters club in Oregon and the 31st Toastmasters club in the world, founded in 1935. It holds hybrid meetings every Monday evening at Portland Community College Cascade Campus. The club welcomes members from diverse backgrounds, languages, and professions, helping them become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders through the Toastmasters Pathways learning program. Notable alumni include Ryan Avery, 2012 World Champion of Public Speaking.

Membership & sessions

Toastmasters International dues are $10.00/month ($60 per 6-month period). Portland Toastmasters club dues are an additional $1.00/month ($6 per 6-month period). Total: $11/month. A one-time Toastmasters International new member fee of $25 applies (as of October 2025); Portland Toastmasters does not charge its own new member fee. Dues are collected twice a year: in March (covering April–September) and in September (covering October–March). Payment accepted by cash, check, credit/debit card at meetings, or online via PayPal. New members are voted in by the club membership.

Meeting schedule: Every Monday, 6:00–7:30 PM (hybrid: in-person and online via Zoom). No meetings on certain national holidays when PCC campus is closed.
