Silicon Valley Japanese-English Toastmasters (SVJETS)

Silicon Valley Japanese-English Toastmasters (SVJETS) is a bilingual public speaking club conducting meetings in both Japanese and English. Chartered in December 1990 (Club #7998, Toastmasters International District 101), it is one of the longest-running bilingual Toastmasters clubs in Silicon Valley. The club helps members improve public speaking, presentation, and leadership skills in a fun, bicultural atmosphere. Meetings feature prepared speeches, Table Topics (impromptu Q&A), and peer evaluations. Guests are always welcome. The 1st Thursday meeting is held online via Zoom; the 3rd Thursday meeting is held in-person in Mountain View, CA, followed by an optional Nijikai social gathering.

Membership & sessions

Open to all; no membership restrictions. New members pay a one-time $25 USD new member fee plus $60 USD semiannual Toastmasters International dues (prorated at $10/month if joining mid-period). Dues are renewed twice yearly (April 1 and October 1). Individual club dues may apply; contact the club for details.
