National Toastmasters Club Sydney

National Toastmasters Club is a public speaking club in Sydney CBD with a long and distinguished history since 1979. Part of Toastmasters International, the club is open to any member of the public who would like to improve their confidence, public speaking, communication, and leadership skills.

Members come from all walks of life โ€” from beginners to experienced speakers who have represented Australia in international speech contests.

Membership & sessions

Membership is open to anyone over 18 interested in improving public speaking, communication, or leadership skills. Note: this club may have professional and/or educational prerequisites โ€” contact the club for details. Members pay Toastmasters International semiannual dues (USD $60 per 6-month period) plus a one-time new member fee (USD $25 from October 2025). In Australia, the ongoing cost typically works out at around AUD $10โ€“20 per month, with an initial joining fee of approximately AUD $100. Guests may attend meetings free of charge before committing.

Services: Prepared speeches (structured speech projects via Toastmasters Pathways program), Table Topics (impromptu speaking practice), Speech evaluations and peer feedback, Pathways learning experience (6 specialised learning paths, 300+ competencies), Speechcraft program (8-week public speaking short course for non-members), Leadership development through club officer and district officer roles, Speech contests (club, area, district and international levels), Mentoring and coaching by experienced members
