Shell Toastmasters Club

Shell Calgary Toastmasters (Club #6771) is an open club welcoming both Shell and non-Shell employees and members of the public. Founded in December 1987, the club meets weekly on alternating Tuesdays (online via Zoom) and Thursdays (in-person at Shell Centre, downtown Calgary) over the lunch hour. Members develop public speaking, communication, and leadership skills in a friendly, supportive environment through Toastmasters International's proven Pathways educational program.

Membership & sessions

Open to all — no Shell employment required. Membership dues are $60 USD per 6-month period (prorated for mid-period joiners at $10 USD/month remaining), plus a one-time new member fee of $25 USD. Renewal periods begin April 1 and October 1. Guests may attend meetings for free before joining.

Services: Prepared speech delivery and evaluation, Table Topics (impromptu speaking practice), Peer feedback and constructive evaluation, Toastmasters Pathways educational program, Leadership role practice (meeting roles: Toastmaster of the Day, Timer, Grammarian, Ah-Counter, Gene, Speech contests (area, division, district levels), Hybrid meetings (Zoom online + in-person)

Meeting schedule: Alternate Tuesdays (online, 12:00–13:00) and Thursdays (in-person, 12:00–13:00). Guests meet in the lobby at 11:55 on in-person days; photo ID required.
