San Diego Toastmasters (Club #1808)

San Diego Toastmasters Club #1808 is a men's public speaking and leadership club chartered in 1968, one of the longest-running Toastmasters clubs in San Diego. Members meet every Friday morning for a breakfast meeting at Denny's in Mission Valley. The club focuses on improving communication and leadership skills through prepared speeches, impromptu Table Topics, and peer evaluations using the Toastmasters Pathways program. Membership is open to all men regardless of profession or background.

Membership & sessions

To be eligible for membership, prospective members must attend three consecutive meetings on time. Club members pay quarterly dues (collected in the first month of each quarter) that cover weekly breakfasts, Toastmasters International dues, and other club operating expenses (printing, award trophies, website maintenance, etc.). Toastmasters International base dues are $60 USD per six-month period, plus a one-time new member fee of $25 USD. Membership is open to all men; no professional prerequisites required.

Club was originally chartered in 1968 as the San Diego Board of Realtors Toastmaster Club, later renamed Eighteen-O-Eight (1808). Some members have been with the club for over 50 years.
