Shalom Speakers Toastmasters Club
Shalom Speakers Toastmasters Club is a newly chartered (February 2025) Toastmasters club meeting weekly at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) in La Jolla, San Diego. Founded by Distinguished Toastmaster Margarita Pinhas, the club welcomes members of all backgrounds — no JCC membership required. Meetings are held every Monday from 7:00–8:00 PM and are open to guests. The club features a high ratio of Distinguished Toastmasters (DTMs) to new members, offering strong mentorship. Cultural elements such as Hebrew phrases, Jewish humor, and Yiddish expressions may be woven into speeches, and meetings are scheduled to avoid conflicts with Jewish holidays. Hybrid attendance (in-person and Zoom) is available.
